The Hinxton 2015 website is an electronic briefing book for our meeting in Manchester. You will receive a subset of these materials in hard copy at the start of the meeting, but everything you need to prepare can be found here. The electronic format also facilitates the sharing of thoughts, feedback, and expertise in advance of our meeting. The briefing material is organized into four sections, described below and arrayed as headers above.
As you can see from the participant page, this is a diverse and impressive group. We are excited about this opportunity to work with all of you on a set of very difficult challenges, and hope that we can use this website to begin that process now. - Meeting Information
- Includes a brief overview of the meeting, along with goals, objectives and proposed products. It also includes a preliminary agenda (that may continue to evolve over the next week), local information, such as details about ground transportation to the venue, and maps of/information about the meeting rooms, campus and surrounding area, a list of the participants–along with brief biographies, and information about the Chatham House Rule, and the adaptation under which our meeting will be held to encourage openness.
- Briefing Materials
- A series of briefs covering essential terrain. These include a description of the international policy landscape via a compendium of normative and legislative documents regarding genomic technologies (in both full and abridged versions), a figure showing fetal development along with screening procedures and interventions, a table showing the science landscape, and brief overview describing the state of the science for generating gametes from pluripotent stem cells.
- Annotated Bibliography
- Relevant publications organized into the following subjects (and presented in chronological order): ethics and policy issues, research articles and reviews, and a collection of papers related to pluripotent stem cell-derived gametes. Each entry links to the full text PDF. Just let us know if there any essential papers missing, and we will add them.
